Eminem dhe Jay – Z fituan nga dy çmime secili, ndërkohë që Justin Bieber mundi të rrëmbente trofeun për kategorinë Best New Artist.
Lady Gaga ka mundur të renditet në të njëjtin vend me grupin A-HA të cilët kanë fituar po 8 çmime në VMA të vitit 1986. Vetëm Peter Gabriel ka fituar më shumë çmime, 9 trofe, në edicionin e vitit 1987, por sigurisht që nuk kish veshur një fustan prej mishi si Lady Gaga.
